PracticeTrail ("the app", "we") is a practice-tracking tool that connects private music teachers with their students. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. The short version: your data lives in Apple's iCloud, we run no servers of our own, we show no ads, and we never sell or share your data with anyone.
The app collects only the data needed for its core features. All of it is provided directly by you:

We do not collect: location, contacts, photos (beyond files you explicitly attach), browsing history, health data, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers.
All data is stored in the app's Apple iCloud (CloudKit) public database, protected by record-level permissions: only you can modify records you created, and records are only readable by the parties they concern (your paired teacher or students). Audio, video and files are stored as CloudKit assets under the same rules. A local cache on your device keeps recent data available offline.
We operate no servers of our own. Apple's handling of CloudKit data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data is used solely to provide the app's features: showing assignments to the right students, showing practice logs to the right teacher, delivering messages, computing streaks, points and weekly reports. There is no profiling, no advertising and no sale or sharing of data with third parties.
You own your data. At any time, free or subscribed, you can export everything — assignments, practice logs, messages and recordings — from the app's Me → Export screen into a single archive on your device.
You can delete your account at any time from Me → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently removes all records you own from iCloud and clears the local cache. You can also contact us at the address below to request deletion.
PracticeTrail is designed to be used by music students, including minors, under the guidance of their teacher and parents. The app collects only the minimal data listed above, shows no ads, contains no external links to social content, and has no public community features. Chat is strictly limited to the paired teacher-student relationship established via an invite code. Either party can report objectionable content by long-pressing a message; reports are reviewed and acted on.
The optional teacher subscription (PracticeTrail Pro) is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details.
If we change this policy, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
